Tiqets names Temple of Brunello in Montalcino ‘Most Innovative Venue’ in Italy

The Temple of Brunello in Montalcino is one of the winners of the sixth Remarkable Venue Awards, an annual prize scheme celebrating the best museums and attractions in Italy, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States, Spain, Germany, Portugal and the United Arab Emirates, awarded by Tiqets, the world’s leading on-line reservation platform for museums and attractions. The jury of experts was so intrigued by the design of this leading-edge immersive museum set in a 14th century convent complex that it gave it the coveted “Most Innovative” award reserved for the most innovative attractions. The Temple of Brunello was designed and produced, and is curated, by Opera Laboratori in conjunction with the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino, the Comune di Montalcino and the Archdiocese of Siena – Colle di Val d’Elsa – Montalcino, to bring added value to the region’s products of excellence inside the medieval complex of Sant’Agostino in the heart of the city.

The winners of the seven awards – five attributed on the strength of over 1.1 million reviews submitted by users on the Tiqets.com platform, the other two awarded by a jury of tourist and culture industry experts – were revealed on international tourism day. In the race for one of these awards, over 200 candidates from all over the world faced each other down this year, divided into the now ‘classic’ categories of Most Remarkable Venue, Best Museum, Best Attraction, Best Landmarks and Best Onsite Experience along with the more recent Most Innovative and Best Hidden Gem categories.

The Temple of Brunello, together with the five other Italian winners and the winners from other countries in the various categories, is now automatically admitted to the “Best of the Best” competition, thus kicking off the competition for the title of Global Winner in the various different “divisions”.

The list of international winners includes attractions of the calibre of the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Casa Batlló in Barcelona, Windsor Castle in England, the Dubai Frame in Dubai, the Oceanário de Lisboa in Lisbon and a host of others.
